Transition From Childhood To Adulthood

Parents! 👋 We know that raising a teen can be very difficult. One of the reasons this can challenging is they’re in transitional phase. Adolescence is the transition from childhood to adulthood.
Though they are not adults just yet if we begin to interact with them and engage with them as such well save ourselves from a lot of stress.
One of the ways to treat them like an adult is to show them respect. It’s essential to find that balance between letting your teenager have their independence and still feeling connected to them.
Here are some ideas:
➡️Actively listen to our teens
➡️Give space for their differing opinions
➡️ Keep our commitments to them
➡️ Apologize when we are wrong
➡️ Make it safe for them to say “no.”
➡️ Ask questions about their opinions
➡️ Fight for them to be themselves
➡️ Respect ourselves
➡️ Praise them more than you criticize
➡️ Invite instead of demand
