Parents! Self-esteem is more than just how you feel about yourself. It’s also about how capable you are to meet life’s challenges and feel worthy of your own happiness!⁣

You can build self-esteem in your child by developing three “A’s”. 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. 👏⁣

➡️ 𝘈𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 – Being affirmed means to be valued for who you are, by a significant person in your life. Children/teens with high self-esteem feel affirmed by their parents.⁣

➡️ 𝘈𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 – Children/teens with high self-esteem report that their parents frequently show affection to them. Hugs, high fives, even a cuddle from time to time! ⁣

➡️ 𝘈𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 – Children/teens with high self-esteem can identify specific accomplishments they have achieved. These teens also feel parental recognition for these achievements, and know their parents are proud of them! ⁣
