How It Was During Puberty For Us

The first thing we try to remember is, how it was during puberty for us. Remember what you needed and desired from your parents during that time. โฃ

Yes, certain behaviors need to be addressed, but do so calmly minus the negative emotions (yelling, irritation, etc.) This is where your great communication skills come in. Acknowledge what youโre seeing, but donโt assign blame or act irrationally. ๐

You know what to do, it just becomes harder to understand our teens because youโve gotten older and forgotten what it was like to be a teenager. That specific time can be weird and traumatizing, so weโve subconsciously forgotten about it. In doing that, we are not assisting our teens like we wish to.
